A video of people seriously sniffing photos of animal butts recently went viral on social media. The pictures show animals like penguins, tigers, and cats. The museum is inside Japan’s Atoa Aquarium near Kobe.
Visitors sniff the back of the animal in the photo through a small hole in the glass, placed near the animal’s backside image. Some people say the pictures have artificial smells added. This makes the experience surprisingly real and fun for many visitors.
The video was posted on Instagram on May 18 and has already gotten over 13 million views. The caption on the video says, “Yes, it actually exists. Which one do you think smells worse?
The Instagram post became very popular, and people shared many funny and shocked comments. One user wrote, “Just because it’s possible doesn’t mean you do it.” Another said, “My dog would’ve loved this.” Someone else joked, “How was the museum? It was ass.” Another user asked, “Now what kind of kink is this?”
Many people laughed at how strange ideas like this can attract attention. One user joked, “We got dog museums for humans before GTA 6.” Another wrote, “So we are sniffing butts now. Okay, humans can truly be so weird most of the time. Also, images of animals count; they would have surely judged us for something like this.”
Some people thought the idea was odd but still wanted to visit. One said, “Not every idea needs to be executed. Some should stay in one’s mind only. What even is this? But in the end, I’m also just a human—so I kind of want to try this museum!”
