Lisa, a woman from Iowa, has grabbed attention online after spending around $150,000 on several cosmetic surgeries at the age of 65, leading to a dramatic transformation that quickly went viral.
The 66-year-old mother of three traveled from Iowa to Missouri to have the procedures performed by renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr. Laxmeesh Mike Nayak of Nayak Plastic Surgery in St. Louis. The clinic is known for its transparent pricing, with a deep plane facelift—the most expensive procedure—starting at $150,000. Other surgeries are priced individually and can vary depending on the patient's needs, according to information on the clinic’s website.
Lisa underwent the procedures in June 2024, after deciding it was time to make a major change in how she looked and felt.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she shared, "I've always said from my 30s even, when the bloom's off the rose, I'm going under the knife. I just knew I would. I just always knew that. I've always kind of looked young for my age, so I could really push it off for a long time. But finally, when I got to be 60, it was time to really figure out and make a decision."
One day Lisa found herself staring into a mirror one evening, unable to recognize the reflection. She then acted quickly, and with encouragement from one of her daughters, she sought out Dr. Nayak for a consultation.
The extensive list of procedures included a deep plane facelift, deep neck lift, brow lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), fat transfer, lip lift, and earlobe reduction.
The six-hour-long series of cosmetic surgeries helped turn back the signs of aging on her face and neck, giving her a big boost in confidence.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Dr. Nayak described Lisa’s appearance before the procedures as "contracted," noting, “not just down, but forward into her face." He explained further, "All her features looked smaller, and she looked a little bottom-heavy and closed in the face. Part two was her skin had things you think of as aging changes, so wrinkles and brown spots, and coarseness."
Dr. Nayak clarified that facelifts aren't always about pulling the skin upward, as many believe. Instead, the direction depends on what works best for each individual. In Lisa’s case, he explained that the skin was lifted not only upward but also outward to give her face a more open appearance. This approach also helped highlight her natural bone structure. As he told PEOPLE, "She has fantastic cheekbone and jawbone structure. All I had to do was just reveal, not even augment or improve her cheekbone and jawbone structure, just reveal it so the lower face neck lift was just to show what's there."
Lisa shared with PEOPLE that her time recovering in St. Louis went surprisingly smoothly, despite the intensity of the procedures she underwent. She said, "Your face is swollen, you're bruised, you're [experiencing] highs and lows emotionally, but never any pain whatsoever, and people can't believe that. I had nine procedures done on my face. I was in surgery for over six hours, so you would think there's got to be pain. None. Some discomfort, but no pain."
Now, she's fully committed to doing "everything she can" to preserve the "work" done by Dr. Nayak.
As she continued to recover, Lisa shared that the support she’s received from her husband and daughters has been nothing short of amazing. They’ve been with her every step of the way, encouraging her throughout the journey and recognizing how important it was for her self-confidence.
