Meta is planning to use artificial intelligence (AI) to manage different parts of its hiring process. According to a report by Business Insider, the company is developing an AI tool that will not only help recruiters but also evaluate how well human interviewers are doing.

The AI will be able to test a candidate’s coding skills, suggest interview questions, match candidates with suitable interviewers, and handle scheduling. It will also keep track of the interviewers' skills, including which languages they speak.

What makes this tool stand out is that it will also review the performance of interviewers. It will check the kinds of questions they ask, flag anything inappropriate or non-inclusive, and assess how useful their feedback is. It will also look at how many candidates they select for the next round.

When will it start?

Meta will start using this hiring system in the second half of 2025. This system aims to save time, cut down on paperwork, and make the hiring process smoother and more consistent. While human interviewers will still be involved, the AI will handle much of the behind-the-scenes work to make interviews more efficient.

A Meta spokesperson told Business Insider that the goal is not to replace people but to support them with faster and more organised tools. Meta isn’t alone, other tech companies like Amazon and IBM are also using AI in recruitment. Amazon uses AI to shortlist candidates but has also taken steps to stop applicants from using AI during interviews.

IBM, on the other hand, has replaced 200 HR jobs with AI tools as part of its automation strategy. AI in hiring is becoming more common. A recent LinkedIn report shows that 37% of companies are already using or testing AI hiring tools, up from 27% the previous year.

Overall, while real people will still conduct interviews at Meta, the company’s new AI plan highlights how technology is now playing a bigger role in how companies find and hire talent.
