Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), led by billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani, has announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence (AI) platform by Jio. The platform will help people use AI services in their own regional languages, making technology more accessible to every Indian.

Mukesh Ambani made this announcement on Sunday, January 11, 2026, while speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held in Rajkot. He said that the AI platform will be developed using a large AI-ready data centre that Reliance is building in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

According to Ambani, the goal of the project is to make AI affordable and useful for everyone. He said the AI platform will be “people-first” and designed in India for Indians, as well as for users around the world. The platform will allow citizens to access AI tools in their own language, on their own devices, helping them become more efficient and productive in their daily lives.

Ambani also highlighted Reliance’s growing investments in Gujarat. He said that over the last five years, Reliance has invested more than ₹3.5 trillion in the state. Now, the company plans to double this amount and invest ₹7 trillion in Gujarat over the next five years.

Along with this technology investments, Ambani also announced plans to set up a hospital in Jamnagar and expand educational facilities in the region. He said these steps are in line with the central government’s vision for development. Speaking about global challenges, Ambani said that despite geopolitical tensions, India remains strong and resilient.

Meanwhile, the Adani Group also announced major investment plans at the event. Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ and son of Gautam Adani, said the group will invest ₹1.5 trillion in the Kutch region of Gujarat over the next five years.

He added that Adani Group aims to complete its Kavda project and commission its full 37 gigawatt capacity by 2030. The company also plans to double the port capacity at Mundra Port over the next 10 years, supporting India’s long-term development goals under Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and aims to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, startups, innovators, and global partners. The two-day event is being held at Marwadi University in Rajkot and features over 400 exhibitors from sectors such as engineering, petrochemicals, MSMEs, tourism, culture, and startups.
