The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has warned everyone involved in the Indian Premier League (IPL), including team owners, players, coaches, support staff, and commentators, about a businessman who is trying to lure them into shady or dishonest activities.

According to the BCCI, this person has a suspicious background and is trying to trap IPL members for his benefit. The board has asked everyone to stay alert and be careful while dealing with unknown people during the tournament.

The Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) believes that a businessman from Hyderabad, who has a record of corrupt activities and links to bookies and gamblers, is trying to befriend people involved in the IPL.
The ACSU has asked all IPL participants to immediately report if they meet this person or have any kind of interaction or connection with him.

The unit has also advised all IPL players and team members to be extra careful. Everyone has been asked to stay alert and report anything suspicious, especially if someone tries to get close to them in unusual ways.
According to reports, the businessman is using expensive gifts like jewellery to lure people. He is said to be pretending to be a fan to approach IPL players and team staff.

He has been seen trying to befriend players, inviting them to private parties, and even visiting team hotels and attending matches. He has also reportedly offered gifts to players and their families in an attempt to build connections.

The businessman is said to be using different tricks to reach out to people in the IPL. He has reportedly tried to contact the family members of team owners, players, coaches, support staff, and even commentators. He pretends to be a fan and offers to take them to luxury hotels or jewellery stores. There are also reports that he may have tried to connect with relatives living abroad, mostly through social media.

In the past, the ACSU had warned teams that new technology has made it easier for such people to cause trouble, and they had urged everyone in the league to be careful. The BCCI has said that it is fully committed to protecting the integrity of cricket and will do everything it can to stop any kind of corrupt activity. They have also asked for everyone’s support in this effort.
