Businessman gifts ₹1 crore Rolex to contractor for building his "fortress"

A Punjabi businessman gifted his contractor a Rolex watch valued at ₹1 crore in recognition of the high-quality work on his expansive 9-acre estate. Gurdip Dev Bath, who commissioned the construction of the property near Zirakpur, presented the luxury timepiece- a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller to contractor Rajinder Singh Roopra for his dedication to “quality, speed of delivery, and meticulous attention” to every detail throughout the project.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller is a work of art in 18-carat yellow gold with the iconic Oyster bracelet from the brand, comprising robust gold links, and the champagne-colored dial as a symbol of luxury and precision. The decision to give the Rolex to Roopra was taken after his commitment to excellence and the ability to surpass all expectations during the two-year construction project.

Architect Ranjodh Singh designed the huge estate, which seems like a fortress if seen today. The estate is enclosed by the sweeping boundary wall and was accomplished in time under the management of more than 200 laborers a day. Bath described the estate as “not just a house; it's a statement of grandeur, carefully designed and constructed to reflect timeless elegance.”  The halls are huge, the gardens are meticulous, and little architectural touches of style infused with practicality evoke the feel of Rajasthani traditional forts.

Reflecting on his project, Roopra accredited the successful execution of it to the collaborative workforce; he emphasised the challenge and fulfillment of the building as an impressive, refined property. “Building a property of this calibre was no easy task,” he said, “especially one that would embody the spirit of Rajasthani forts.” His dedication to timelines and attention to detail were aspects that helped bring what he envisioned for Bath into an exemplary residence that exceeded even more than the family ever dreamed of.

This was a very rare gesture that highlights how meticulous attention to detail reflects the value ascribed to craft and effort, for Roopra, his hard work has finally paid off with a timelessly luxurious symbol.
