At a recent rally in Maharashtra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke out against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party’s positions. He addressed the issue of Article 370, which had given special status to Jammu and Kashmir before being removed in 2019. Shah said that even if former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Rahul’s grandmother, "came back from heaven," the special status would not be restored. This showed the BJP's commitment to keeping Jammu and Kashmir's status as it is now.
Shah also spoke about reservations. He mentioned that some Muslim leaders had asked the Congress for job and education reservations for Muslims. Shah responded by saying that even if "four generations" of Rahul Gandhi's family tried, they would not be able to take reservations from scheduled castes, tribes, and other backward groups to give them to Muslims.
Maharashtra elections and Rahul Gandhi’s political influence
As Maharashtra’s assembly election on November 20 gets closer, Amit Shah shared his concerns about the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, which includes Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (SCP), and Congress. Shah said that if the MVA comes to power, they might take money from Maharashtra’s resources and send it to Delhi, which could hurt the state’s development. On the other hand, he promised that if the BJP-led alliance, called 'Mahayuti,' wins, it will focus on bringing more development to Maharashtra.
Amit Shah criticised Rahul Gandhi for showing a copy of the Constitution at public events. He said, “Rahul Gandhi was seen waving a copy of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution.” Shah mentioned that when some journalists saw that same copy, it “had blank pages.” According to Shah, “By showing a fake Constitution, Rahul broke the trust of people and insulted Babasaheb.”
Amit Shah made a remark about Sonia Gandhi's efforts to support her son Rahul Gandhi in politics. He said, “Sonia ji tried to land the plane named Rahul Baba 20 times, and 20 times the plane crashed." He added, "Now again, an attempt is being made to land the plane for the 21st time in Maharashtra.”
