A pregnant woman almost faced a life-threatening situation when an explosion happened in the ambulance she was travelling in on Wednesday, November 13, in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. The incident took place on a flyover on the National Highway in the Dada Wadi area.

The explosion happened because the oxygen cylinder inside the ambulance went off after the engine caught fire. A video of the incident, shared widely on social media, shows the ambulance burning before it exploded, sending pieces flying into the air. The explosion was so strong that it broke the windows of nearby houses.

Reports say that the ambulance driver saw smoke coming from the engine and quickly stopped the vehicle. He told the pregnant woman and her family to get out and move to a safe place. Shortly after, the ambulance caught fire, and the oxygen cylinder inside exploded.

Luckily, no one was hurt or killed in the incident. The woman and her family were on their way from Erandol Government Hospital to Jalgaon District Hospital when the explosion happened. The driver acted quickly, which helped prevent a serious accident.

What to do if an oxygen cylinder explodes in an ambulance

Stop the vehicle immediately. If you're the driver, stop the ambulance as soon as possible. Turn off the engine to prevent further danger.

Evacuate the vehicle: Ask everyone in the ambulance, including the patient and family, to get out quickly but safely. Move away from the ambulance to a safe distance.

Call for help: Call emergency services or the fire department immediately to report the explosion and ask for help.

Stay away from the ambulance: After evacuating, make sure no one goes near the ambulance. The oxygen cylinder can explode at any time, so it’s safest to stay far away.
