A 23-year-old woman named Anuradha Paswan has been caught by police in Rajasthan for marrying many men and then stealing from them. Police say she married 25 different men across several states in just seven months. The police call her the "loot-and-scoot bride."

Anuradha worked with a group involved in a marriage scam. She would find men who wanted to get married and make legal wedding papers with them. After staying a few days with her new husband, she would leave quietly at night, taking their gold, money, and electronics with her.

Meetha Lal, the police officer investigating the case, said, "She would present herself as a bride, marry her victims using legal paperwork, stay for a few days and then vanish under the cover of night with stolen gold, cash and electronics."

The fraud was found out after Vishnu Sharma, a man from Sawai Madhopur, complained to the police on May 3. He said he paid Rs 2 lakh to two agents named Sunita and Pappu Meena. They promised to find him a good bride and introduced him to Anuradha. They got married on April 20 at a local court, but on May 2, Anuradha ran away with valuables.

Before all this, Anuradha worked at a hospital in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh. She had separated from her husband after problems at home and then moved to Bhopal. In Bhopal, she joined a gang that tricks men by marrying them and stealing from them. The gang used WhatsApp to show photos of brides and asked for money between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh to arrange marriages. The brides usually left within a week after the wedding.

Police have named others involved in the scam, including Roshni, Raghubir, Golu, Majboot Singh Yadav, and Arjan. These people are from different parts of Bhopal.

After running away from Vishnu Sharma’s home, Anuradha married another man named Gabbar in Bhopal and took Rs 2 lakh from him too. Police managed to arrest her by sending an undercover officer who pretended to be a groom. When an agent showed her photo, the police arrested her immediately.
