Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra married Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Pinaki Misra in a small ceremony in Berlin, Germany, on May 3. Mahua Moitra, who has been elected twice to the Lok Sabha from Krishnanagar, tied the knot with Pinaki Misra, a senior parliament member from Odisha’s Puri area.

A photo shared by India Today TV shows Moitra wearing traditional clothes and gold jewelry, indicating it was a private but special event. Mahua Moitra was born on October 12, 1974, in Assam. She worked as an investment banker before joining Mamata Banerjee’s party in 2010. She was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019 and won again in 2024.

About Mahua Moitra and Pinaki Misra

Mahua Moitra became well known across India for her powerful speeches, especially one in Parliament where she spoke about the "seven signs of fascism."  On the other hand, Pinaki Misra, born on October 23, 1959, in Puri, Odisha, is an experienced politician and senior lawyer. He studied History at St. Stephen's College and completed his law degree from Delhi University.

Misra started his political career with the Congress party and won the Puri Lok Sabha seat in 1996. Later, he joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), led by Naveen Patnaik. He has been elected to the Lok Sabha several times, winning in 2009, 2014, and 2019.
