After the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, Pakistan appears worried about a possible military response from India. The attack took place on April 22 in the Baisaran meadow, also known as ‘mini Switzerland’. A terror group called The Resistance Front (TRF), linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pakistan moves radars and troops to the front

According to India Today, Pakistan is shifting its radar systems closer to the Line of Control (LoC), especially in the Sialkot sector, to monitor possible Indian airstrikes. Electronic warfare units are also being moved near the Ferozepur sector to detect Indian military actions.

Pakistan has already set up a powerful TPS-77 radar at Chor Cantonment, only 58 km from the international border. This radar system is known for its high capacity to monitor air activity and provide real-time situational awareness.

At the same time, for the fifth day in a row, Pakistan has violated the ceasefire by firing without any provocation in the Kupwara, Baramulla, and Akhnoor sectors. The Indian Army responded strongly to these violations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the government will “identify, track and punish” every terrorist and their backers. This strong warning has made Pakistan extremely alert.

India recently carried out a big military exercise called Aakraman, involving Rafale fighter jets and Navy operations to show its preparedness. Meanwhile, flight-tracking data showed Pakistan Air Force jets moving from Karachi to Lahore and Rawalpindi.

On Monday, Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told Reuters, "We have reinforced our forces because it is something which is imminent now... Pakistan is on high alert, and it would only use its arsenal of nuclear weapons if there is a direct threat to our existence."

Also, intelligence sources say Pakistan is vacating terror launch pads in PoK, moving terrorists to army shelters and bunkers.
