Security has been tightened across Mumbai and Delhi after the blast near the Red Fort in Delhi that killed nine people and injured several others. On Tuesday, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) increased patrolling at all major railway stations in Mumbai to ensure passenger safety.

In Mumbai, security checks were stepped up at important stations such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Dadar, Thane, and Kalyan on the Central Railway line. Similarly, on the Western Railway line, stations like Churchgate, Mumbai Central, Bandra Terminus, Borivali, and Vasai were put on high alert.

Dog squads and bomb detection and disposal teams have been deployed at railway stations to check for suspicious items. The police have requested passengers to remain alert and to avoid touching unidentified objects. “We are on high alert,” a senior RPF officer told PTI. Both RPF and GRP teams are checking trains, platforms, and baggage at major stations.

A Central Railway spokesperson confirmed that parcels and luggage are being scanned at key locations, while the Western Railway spokesperson added that officials were working closely with the local police to maintain security. Additional combing operations were also carried out by the Mumbai Police in different areas of the city.

Police personnel have been deployed at all entry points, including Dahisar, Thane, Vashi, and Airoli. Barricades have been set up on main roads, and officers are checking suspicious vehicles and individuals. Meanwhile, in Delhi, police have registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act in connection with the Red Fort blast.

The case has been filed at the Kotwali police station under Sections 16 and 18 of the UAPA, which relate to punishment and conspiracy for terror activities. Police officials said the high-intensity explosion occurred in a slow-moving car near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening.

The blast killed nine people and damaged several nearby vehicles. After the explosion, Delhi Police launched raids at multiple locations and placed the national capital on high alert, with strict security at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals. Authorities in both Mumbai and Delhi have urged citizens to remain calm but alert, report any suspicious activity, and cooperate with security personnel as investigations continue.
