In Ghaziabad, near Delhi, 46-year-old real estate dealer Kuldip Tyagi shot his wife Anshu Tyagi and then took his own life on Wednesday morning. Police say the incident occurred around 11 am at their home in Radha Kunj Society, Raj Nagar Extension.

Their two sons were at home when they heard gunshots and rushed to their parents' room. Their mother was found on the bed, and their father on the floor. Both were taken to the hospital but were declared dead. A suicide note found in the room revealed that Kuldip had been diagnosed with cancer, but had kept it a secret from his family.

In the note, he wrote that he didn’t want money to be spent on his treatment because recovery was uncertain. He added that he was taking his wife along as they had promised to stay together forever. He also made it clear that no one, especially his children, should be blamed.

The police have seized the revolver and sent the bodies for post-mortem. They leave behind their two sons and Kuldip’s father, who used to work as a police officer.

Senior police officer Poonam Mishra said, "Kuldip Tyagi used his licensed revolver to shoot his wife and then himself. In the suicide note, he wrote that he had cancer, but his family didn’t know. He didn’t want money to be spent on his treatment, so he decided to end both their lives. We are looking into the matter," she added.
