As part of its Electric Vehicle Policy-2022, the Rajasthan government has set up a ₹200 crore fund to support and encourage e-vehicle adoption. The goal is to accelerate the shift towards electric mobility.

In line with the FAME-2 (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) guidelines, the initiative aims to promote EV adoption by offering State GST reimbursements and one-time grants to buyers of electric vehicles equipped with advanced battery technology.

The subsidy is available for electric vehicles bought on or after September 1, 2022, and registered in Rajasthan. However, only vehicles purchased within the state qualify.

According to Joint Transport Commissioner Jagdish Prasad Bairwa, EV manufacturers under FAME-2 must first register on the state transport department’s portal to be eligible. After registering, they need to submit details of their EV models, including battery type and capacity, as per FAME-2 guidelines.

The transport department will first verify the submitted details before allowing buyers to apply for subsidies through the Vahan portal.

To claim the subsidy, vehicle owners need to:

1. Enter the last five digits of their vehicle registration and chassis number on the portal.

2️. Verify their identity using an OTP sent to their registered mobile number.

3️. Upload their bank details and supporting documents (e.g., passbook front page or a canceled  cheque).

4️. Submit the application for approval.

Once approved, the subsidy amount will be directly transferred to the owner's bank account. However, incentives are limited per vehicle category, so manufacturers, dealers, and buyers are advised to apply early to secure benefits under the scheme.
