Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Krishna Singh Kallu on Thursday said that a police complaint has been filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Patna for allegedly making abusive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The complaint was registered at Gandhi Maidan Police Station.
According to Kallu, Rahul Gandhi, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has been continuously using objectionable language against PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He alleged that during a rally of the INDIA bloc in Darbhanga, remarks were made against PM Modi’s late mother. Kallu said such comments were “indecent” and cannot be tolerated.
The BJP leader also said that people of Bihar would not allow the INDIA bloc’s upcoming rally in Patna to take place. “Today, we came to the Gandhi Maidan police station and filed an application for legal action against Rahul Gandhi, after which an FIR has been registered. We will not allow Rahul Gandhi’s program in Patna,” he told ANI.
Earlier, several BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda, strongly criticised Congress and RJD leaders for the alleged remarks. Amit Shah, in a post on X, called the language used against PM Modi a “stain on democracy.” He said that under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Congress politics has reached its “lowest level,” and accused the party of being unable to accept that a “poor mother’s son” has been serving as Prime Minister for 11 years.
BJP president JP Nadda also said that such comments have crossed all limits of decency and demanded apologies from both Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Meanwhile, the Congress dismissed the allegations. Party spokesperson Pawan Khera said that the BJP was raising “irrelevant issues” only to divert public attention from more important matters.
