A strange event early Saturday morning has left people in the Umred taluka, Nagpur district, curious. A large piece of metal reportedly fell from the sky and crashed onto the terrace of a house in the Kose layout area, raising questions about whether it could be space debris.
According to Nagpur Rural Police, the object landed on the terrace slab of a house at around 4 am. A local resident living there said the steel-like item struck the parapet wall between 4 am and 4:15 am.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Police confirmed that they are investigating the object. A forensic team has been called in to examine the metal piece and determine what it is and where it came from.
Officials have not confirmed yet whether it is from space.
Suresh Chopne, an astronomy lover and head of Sky Watch Group, shared his opinion on the object. He said,
“The metal object could be a part of a rocket booster of a satellite sent into space.”
However, this has not been confirmed by the authorities.
For now, the mysterious object is with the police and is under examination.
