AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has blamed an intelligence failure for the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. He said the incident was even “more dangerous and painful” than the earlier terror attacks in Uri and Pulwama.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, Owaisi strongly condemned the killing of 26 people in the Pahalgam attack. He said, "The terrorists indiscriminately killed innocent people after asking their religion in Pahalgam. We strongly condemn this. We expect the government would take strict action. Another important thing is that this is also an intelligence failure."
He asked the Narendra Modi government to take responsibility and ensure justice for the families of the victims. He also said that his party, AIMIM, stands with the families of those who lost their lives and prayed for the recovery of those injured.
Owaisi called the incident a "massacre" and said that the central government should re-evaluate its security and deterrence policies. "The Narendra Modi government should see to it that they know to what extent their deterrence policy is succeeding or not," he added.
He also said that the terrorists came from the neighbouring country with the aim to "spread terror and kill innocents here in India".
The attack took place at the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday. It is one of the deadliest attacks in the Valley in recent years.
