Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Santosh Verma, who recently came into the spotlight for his controversial comments about Brahmin women and High Court judges, is now facing strict action ordered by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav.

The General Administration Department (GAD) has started several administrative and disciplinary measures against Verma. He is also the president of the Madhya Pradesh Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Officers and Employees Association, commonly known as AJJAKS.

During its investigation, the GAD discovered that a fake promotion order was created to help Verma move from the State Administrative Service to the IAS. Since criminal cases related to this alleged forgery are already being heard in different courts, the state government has decided that Verma’s IAS promotion, obtained using false documents, cannot be considered valid. The government is now preparing a proposal to send to the central government, recommending his dismissal from the IAS.

Officials also said that Verma’s reply to the show-cause notice was not satisfactory. They added that he continues to make inappropriate public statements. Because of this, the government has decided to issue a formal chargesheet against him. Verma has also been removed from his post as Deputy Secretary in the Agriculture Department and placed in the GAD pool, where he has not been given any department or work.

These actions come at a time when Verma’s recent remarks at an AJJAKS event have caused a major political and social controversy. In a viral video, he accused the High Court of blocking Scheduled Tribe candidates from becoming civil judges, claiming that the recruitment process was purposely designed to keep SC and ST candidates out.

His latest statements have made protests stronger, especially among Brahmin and upper-caste groups. They were already angry about his earlier comment that reservation should continue “until a Brahmin gives his daughter in marriage to our son.”

The Brahmin Samaj United Front has announced a big protest and plans to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence on December 14. Preparations for this demonstration will begin on December 13, with groups planning a march from Vallabh Bhavan and blowing conch shells at the statue of Maharana Pratap before the rally.

Meanwhile, Santosh Verma has denied all allegations. In an interview with NDTV, he claimed that the issue is being used to target him because of internal disputes within AJJAKS. The target is not Santosh Verma. The target is the AJAKS office. They want to take control of the organisation. Personal attacks on me are only a distraction,” he said.
