The Maharashtra Revenue Department has made it compulsory for all its employees to use the Face App and geo-fencing system to mark their attendance. This step is being taken to ensure that attendance is recorded only from office locations. Only those employees who register on the Face App will get their August salary, which will be paid in September, as per the order by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. A formal notice with detailed guidelines will be issued soon.

Minister Bawankule said that this move is part of efforts to improve efficiency, bring more transparency, and make the system more people-friendly. He added that a review of department work is already underway and that problems were found in some areas, such as the Raigad district. He has asked officials to complete all planned work within 150 days.

Quick action on pending cases

The minister has also askedofficials to clear all pending quasi-judicial cases quickly. He suggested using Lok Adalats to solve public complaints and instructed tehsildars and land record officers to resolve all pending issues without delay. He said the system should work in a way that people don’t need to visit the state secretariat to get their issues resolved. He encouraged officers to come up with new and helpful ideas to improve services.

This step is part of the state’s larger goal to modernise the system, cut down delays, and create a faster and more helpful government process that puts citizens first. The Face App and geo-fencing tools are part of the government’s push to digitise attendance and make officials more accountable.

Lok Adalats, also known as people’s courts, are a way to settle disputes quickly without going through regular courts. They help solve cases faster and in a simpler way. The 150-day timeline shows that the government wants to fix problems and complete work on time. It’s part of a plan to make government departments work more effeciently.
