A family in Gujarat’s Amreli district was shocked and terrified when they found a lion sitting in their kitchen on Wednesday night. The lion sat quietly on top of a wall, staring at the family, for almost two hours.
The incident happened in the house of Mulubhai Rambhai Lakhannotra. His family was sleeping when the lion entered through an opening in the roof, according to local media reports. As soon as they saw the wild animal, the family ran out of the house and cried for help.

Hearing the noise, villagers rushed to help. They used flashlights and made loud sounds to scare the lion away. A video that is now viral shows the lion calmly sitting on a wall inside the kitchen. A flashlight shines on his face, and for a few seconds, the lion looks directly at the camera with glowing eyes in the dark.
Thankfully, after nearly two hours, the villagers managed to chase the lion away. No one was hurt during the incident.
This is not the first time a lion has entered a residential area in the region. In February, another Asiatic lion was spotted walking on the Bhavnagar-Somnath Highway. It stopped traffic for at least 15 minutes as it crossed a bridge. Vehicles, including cars, trucks, and bikes, waited for the lion to safely cross the road. A video taken from a car showed the lion walking calmly on the highway.
