As the Kumbh Mela 2025 approaches, a unique white bus stationed near Alopshankari Crossing on Sangam Lower Road in Sector 18 is drawing attention from visitors. This bus serves as the home of Swami Sachchidanand Chaitanya and also houses a 65 kg Sphatik (Crystal) Shivling. Swami Sachchidanand claims that this is the world’s heaviest Sphatik Shivling, which was installed by his guru, Shri Laxman Chaitanya Brahmachari, in 1992.
The bus, called 'Shri Shri Harsiddhi,' was named by Shri Laxman Chaitanya Brahmachari, a disciple of Swami Karpatri Ji Maharaj and the former president of the All India Dharma Sangh. Swami Sachchidanand explains that his guru created a square tank on the bus's roof to collect holy water from lakes and rivers mentioned in sacred scriptures. The Sphatik Shivling inside the bus has been bathed in holy water from various pilgrimage sites, including all 12 Jyotirlingas.
The bus is equipped with a grain storage system to prepare food offerings for pilgrims and a stage that opens at the rear. It was previously equipped with a kitchen and a toilet. Swami Sachchidanand, in a conversation with PTI Bhasha, recalled that his guru, Shri Laxman Chaitanya Brahmachari, used the bus to visit pilgrimage sites. After his passing in 2001, his disciple, Guru Maa Kalyani Chaitanya Brahmacharini, carried on the tradition, living in the bus, performing spiritual practices, and going on pilgrimages until her death in 2023.
It is a Tata 1210 model, an older design for which spare parts are no longer produced. Despite this, Swami Sachchidanand mentions that mechanics are excited to work on it and manage to find spare parts from other vehicles. He adds, “This bus is not just a vehicle; it is a provider of all siddhis (spiritual powers).”
