The incident took place around 7 pm in Kevatpara, near Kabristan Road. The woman, Vimla Devi, and her neighbour Ragni Jha had been arguing for a long time. They often fought over things like throwing water and garbage on a new road nearby.
On Wednesday, their argument got worse. Vimla’s husband, Manoj Singh, who is a teacher, tried to calm things down, but the situation turned violent. The situation became deadly when Fulchand Sah came to the spot with his father, Lalchand Sah, and two brothers. Angry and out of control, Fulchand took out a sword and attacked Vimla Devi, cutting off her head with one strike. Then he attacked her husband, Manoj Singh, causing serious injuries.
Manoj tried to protect himself by raising his arm, but still got badly hurt and lost a lot of blood. He was taken to Phulo Jhano Medical College, where he is still in critical condition.
After the attack, Fulchand ran away but later gave himself up to the police at Dumka’s Nagar Thana. The police took the sword used in the crime and sent Vimla Devi’s body for an autopsy. The police are still investigating what caused this terrible incident. Manoj Singh, from his hospital bed, said his wife often argued with Ragni Jha, and Fulchand’s family usually supported Jha in these fights.
Vimla Devi’s daughter, who saw what happened, said she stayed hidden inside the house to stay safe. She said she never expected such a small disagreement to turn into something so violent. The incident has made people in the area very scared.
