To manage the heavy rush of passengers during Holi, Indian Railways has introduced special Holi trains on various routes. These trains will help people reach their homes and celebrate the festival with their families.

Holi special trains will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Mumbai) and Banaras, Pune and Danapur, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Danapur, and from Delhi to multiple cities. Bookings for these special trains are now open.

Holika Dahan will be observed on March 13, and Holi will be celebrated on March 14, followed by a weekend on March 15 and 16. Due to this extended holiday, travel demand has increased. To ensure smooth travel, Indian Railways has arranged special trains for passengers.

Details of special trains

Train from Mumbai

Train No. 01013 will operate from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Banaras, and Train No. 01014 will run from Banaras to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

  • Train 01013 will leave Mumbai at 10:30 pm on March 13.
  • Train 01014 will depart from Banaras at 8:00 am on March 15.

Special train between Pune and Danapur

Train numbers 01419 and 01420 will run between Pune and Danapur.

  • Train 01419 will leave Pune on March 11 at 7:55 pm.
  • Train 01420 will depart from Danapur on March 13 at 6:30 am.

Train number 01012 will operate between Danapur and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

  • This train will leave Danapur on March 11 at 9:30 pm.

Northern Railway has also announced special trains from Delhi on March 11 to accommodate passengers traveling home for the festival. Passengers are advised to check the railway schedule and book their tickets in advance. Indian Railways is working to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for all travellers during Holi.
