In a remarkable rescue operation, the Indian Army’s Battle Axe Division safely evacuated a 30-year-old man stranded in the middle of the Ayad River in Udaipur. The man had been marooned after heavy water flow cut off all escape routes. Using drones, the army assessed the situation from above and delivered safety equipment, ensuring the man’s safe evacuation. The Konark Corps highlighted the operation on X, calling it “a unique and innovative method using drones for rescue”, and praised the adaptability of the Indian Army in handling such challenging situations.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall across multiple regions. Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Gujarat, East Rajasthan, and Southwest Rajasthan on September 6-7, 2025. The IMD also forecast isolated heavy rains in areas including West Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra between September 6 and 11.

The heavy rainfall has already caused damage in Ajmer district, where the Boraj dam wall collapsed on Thursday night, flooding streets and homes. Authorities and police acted quickly to rescue affected residents. Local resident Arun told ANI that water levels have now decreased, and people are safe, noting that prior warnings from the administration helped reduce risks.

This incident highlights the combined efforts of the Indian Army and local authorities in responding to emergencies during extreme weather conditions.
