Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian Army has destroyed several Pakistani military posts along the Line of Control (LoC), sources said. This action came after Pakistan resumed firing across the border following India’s aerial strikes under Operation Sindoor. These strikes had targeted terror camps deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
According to officials, Pakistan launched multiple drone and missile attacks after the Indian operation. However, Indian forces successfully stopped those threats. “At least 50 Pakistani drones were taken down,” officials said.
In response to the firing, the Indian Army used anti-tank guided missiles to hit Pakistani military posts. Though it is not confirmed which sector the video came from, the Army released its first official footage showing the destruction of a Pakistani post.
The Indian Army said in a statement, “Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.”
The Army further added, “The drone attacks were effectively repulsed, and a ‘befitting reply’ was given to the ceasefire violations by the Army. The Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. All nefarious designs will be responded to with force.”
Major infiltration attempt foiled by BSF
Meanwhile, India's Border Security Force (BSF) stopped a major infiltration attempt in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials believe that the attempt was linked to ongoing tensions and the recent military actions between the two nations.
Blackouts in border areas amid attack warnings
Due to possible aerial attacks from Pakistan, authorities enforced blackouts in many cities near the border. Power was cut off overnight in areas like Srinagar, Jammu, and several parts of Punjab and Rajasthan. Officials confirmed that there were no reports of damage or injuries from these areas.
