The United Kingdom is thinking about flying back its high-tech fighter jet, the F-35B, from Kerala using a giant transport plane called the C-17 Globemaster. The jet has been stuck in Thiruvananthapuram for 19 days after it had to make an emergency landing.

The F-35B is too big to go into the C-17 Globemaster without being taken apart first. But this isn’t like taking apart a toy; it’s extremely tricky. Only engineers who have been specially trained by the aircraft’s maker, Lockheed Martin, are allowed to do it.

Because the jet has top-secret parts, every small step during the dismantling has to be carefully watched and written down. Every screw has a special code. The British military is keeping a close eye on the process to make sure nothing goes missing or leaks out.

The F-35B is one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world. It can hide from radar, use AI and sensors, and even carry nuclear weapons. That’s why its technology is highly protected. If any part of it is stolen or copied, it could be very dangerous, not just for the UK, but for many countries.

Keeping the jet’s secrets safe is very important for the country's national security and military safety.

Something similar happened back in May 2019 in the United States. That was the first time an F-35 had one of its wings removed and was shipped by air. A C-17 carried the aircraft from Eglin Air Force Base in Florida to Hill Air Force Base in Utah, after four years of planning and work. This was shared on Eglin Air Base’s official website.

The world’s most expensive and powerful jet

The F-35 program is the costliest military project ever, worth more than $1.7 trillion. But it’s also known to be one of the most powerful fighter jets. It gives pilots a major edge in any battle because of its advanced technology and strong defence features.

The UK is now figuring out the safest way to bring back the jet from Kerala, making sure its secret systems stay protected.
