A new twist has emerged in the Faridabad terror module linked to the Red Fort blast case. Investigators say the group used food names as codewords to plan the attack.
According to security agencies, “Biryani” was the codeword for explosives, while “Dawat” stood for the day of the attack.
Officials said the message “Biryani is ready… get ready for the feast” was used to signal that the bomb was prepared and an attack was close.
Investigators have identified four doctors who were part of this white-collar terror module: Muzammil Shakeel, Umar Un Nabi, Shahina Saeed, and Adeel Ham Radar.
Officials say they discussed bombs and plans by pretending to talk about cooking on an encrypted messaging app.
On Tuesday morning, the Enforcement Directorate carried out searches at several places connected to Al-Falah University in Faridabad. This university has come under scrutiny in the Red Fort blast case.
ED teams searched around 25 locations linked to the university’s trust and promoters, starting at 5:15 am.
One of the locations raided was an office in Delhi’s Okhla area, with police and paramilitary forces securing the site.
An ED official said the searches are part of an ongoing probe into money laundering, shell companies, and other financial irregularities.
The official added that important staff handling the trust’s finance and administration were also covered in the raids.
The blast near Delhi’sRed Fort on November 10 has now claimed 15 lives.
Anti-terror agencies are examining the role of several doctors linked to Al-Falah University and individuals in Kashmir.
The ED has taken note of FIRs filed by both the NIA and Delhi Police. So far, the NIA has arrested two people said to be close aides of Dr Umar Nabi, who is described in the case files as a “suicide bomber”.
