Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on November 25 to mark an important moment in the country’s spiritual and cultural journey. The date holds special value as it falls on the Panchami of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha and matches the Abhijit Muhurat linked to the Vivah Panchami of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. The day also marks the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, who meditated in Ayodhya for 48 hours in the 17th century.
PM Modi is expected to begin his visit around 10 AM with a stop at the Saptmandir complex. This area includes temples of Maharshi Vashishtha, Maharshi Vishwamitra, Maharshi Agastya, Maharshi Valmiki, Devi Ahilya, Nishadraj Guha, and Mata Shabari.
After this, he will visit the Sheshavtar Mandir and the Mata Annapurna Mandir around 11 AM. He will also offer Darshan and Pooja at the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah and Ram Lalla Garbha Grah.
Hoisting of saffron flag at Ram Mandir
At noon, the Prime Minister will lead a symbolic ceremony by hoisting a 10-foot by 20-foot saffron flag atop the Shikhar of the Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir. The flag marks the completion of the temple’s construction and represents a new chapter of cultural pride and unity.
The saffron flag carries a bright Sun symbol for the strength and courage of Bhagwan Shri Ram, the sacred Kovidara tree, and the ‘Om’ symbol, signs connected to the ideals of Ram Rajya and national harmony.
The main Shikhar of the temple follows the traditional North Indian Nagara style. Around it, the 800-metre-long Parkota (the circumambulatory path) features designs inspired by South Indian temple architecture.
The complex includes 87 carved stone panels showing scenes from the Valmiki Ramayana and 79 bronze panels depicting episodes from Indian culture. These elements offer visitors a rich cultural and educational experience.
The ceremonial flag hoisting is expected to be one of the most significant spiritual moments connected to the Ram Mandir. It celebrates the life and teachings of Bhagwan Shri Ram and highlights India’s deep cultural roots.
PM Modi is also expected to address the gathering, focusing on the values of Ram Rajya, unity, and India’s shared heritage.
