Ekagrah Rohan Murty, the 17-month-old grandson of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, will receive Rs 3.3 crore as part of Infosys' dividend payout for the financial year ending March 2025. He is the son of Rohan Murthy, Narayana Murthy's son, and his wife Aparna Krishnan. Ekagrah owns 15 lakh shares of Infosys, which make up a 0.04% stake in the company. These shares were gifted to him by his grandfather when he was just four months old, when their value exceeded Rs 240 crore.
Infosys recently announced a final dividend of Rs 22 per share, and with its 15 lakh shares, Ekagrah will earn Rs 3.3 crore from this payout. This brings his total dividend earnings to Rs 10.65 crore so far.
Born in November 2023 in Bengaluru, Ekagrah is the third grandchild of Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty. He is the son of Rohan Murthy and Aparna Krishnan. He is the younger cousin of Krishna and Anoushka, the daughters of Akshata Murty and her husband, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Ekagrah owns 15 lakh shares of Infosys, which make up 0.04% of the company. These shares were gifted to him by his grandfather when he was just four months old. At that time, the value of those shares was over Rs 240 crore. Infosys recently announced a final dividend of Rs 22 per share. Since Ekagrah holds 15 lakh shares, this will fetch him Rs 3.3 crore. This takes his total dividend income so far to Rs 10.65 crore for the financial year.
At just one year and five months old, Ekagrah is among the youngest millionaires in the country. Infosys has declared three dividend payouts since it received the shares, totalling Rs 49 per share. This includes Rs 7.35 crore he earned earlier from interim dividends. His daughter, Akshata Murty, who owns 3.89 lakh shares or a 1.04% stake in the company, will earn Rs 85.71 crore. Narayana Murthy himself will receive Rs 33.3 crore, while his wife, Sudha Murty, will get Rs 76 crore.
The company has announced that the record date for the dividend is May 30, and the money will be paid out on June 30.
