Air raid sirens were heard in Chandigarh on Friday morning after the Indian Air Force Station warned of a possible attack. Following the alert, the district administration advised people to stay indoors and avoid going to their balconies. Later, officials confirmed that the alert was over and the situation was normal.

The Chandigarh administration posted on X that an air warning was received from the Air Force Station about a possible attack. Sirens were sounded, and people were advised to stay indoors and away from balconies.
After this, the Mohali administration in Punjab also issued a similar advisory, asking people in bordering sectors to stay inside and keep away from windows and glass panes. In Haryana, the Ambala administration also reported air raid sirens and urged residents to remain indoors as a safety precaution.

Cabinet ministers will review emergency services in border districts, including hospitals, fire stations, and the availability of essential supplies. After a cabinet meeting, 10 ministers will visit different border areas.

Ministers Lal Chand Kataruchakk and Dr. Ravjot Singh will go to Gurdaspur, while Kuldeep Dhaliwal and Mohinder Bhagat will oversee arrangements in Amritsar.This latest alert in Chandigarh came just hours after Pakistan launched drones and missiles across the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC), targeting several areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Indian air defence systems intercepted and shot down over 50 drones, officials said.

Last night, Pakistan launched an unprovoked offensive, prompting India to retaliate by striking Islamabad, Lahore, and Sialkot. Pakistan also violated the ceasefire and fired artillery shells into village areas along the Line of Control (LoC). The Indian Army responded quickly. Air sirens were activated in several border regions, including parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan.

In response to the escalating situation, a complete blackout was observed in several areas, including Jammu, Srinagar, Udhampur, Baramulla, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Barmer, and Jaisalmer.
