A businessman named Shahzad from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan, police said on Sunday. He was caught by the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) in Moradabad after receiving information about his suspected role in smuggling and spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI.
According to the STF, Shahzad was sharing important and sensitive information about India with people linked to the ISI.

He had travelled to Pakistan several times over the years and was involved in smuggling goods like clothes, spices, and cosmetics. The STF said this illegal trade was just a cover for his secret spying activities. The investigation also found that Shahzad gave money and Indian SIM cards to ISI agents working in India. He also reportedly helped send people from Rampur and other parts of Uttar Pradesh to Pakistan to work for the ISI. The ISI agents helped get visas for these people, the STF added.
