More than half of Indian adults face sleep issues when they don’t stick to a regular bedtime routine, a new survey has found. The survey, conducted by YouGov and Amazon in February 2025, gathered responses from over 1,000 people across 10 cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.
The survey reveals that 53% of participants said they experienced sleep problems if they didn't stick to a regular bedtime. In contrast, 54% of individuals mentioned that their sleep improved significantly if they stuck to a regular bedtime schedule.
Interestingly, about 52% of the participants reported that they employ voice assistants such as Alexa to assist them in maintaining their sleep schedules. The smart devices assist in setting up sleep schedules and establishing a soothing atmosphere before bedtime.
Teena Sidana, Country Manager at Alexa India, pointed out the increasing use of smart technology to sleep better.
She stated,"Sleep routines are gaining popularity, and...smart technologies, especially voice assistants like Alexa, are increasingly becoming a valuable aid in helping people follow their bedtime routines. Personalised voice AI experiences are emerging as practical alternatives to handheld screen devices before bedtime."
Experts have always stressed the value of a regular sleep regimen for general health and well-being.
This survey shows that increasing numbers of individuals are now relying on smart technology to enhance their sleeping habits. With voice assistants now an integral part of evening routines, it appears that technology is assisting people in getting a good night's sleep.
