Police have found human remains near the Rhode Island mansion of American pop star Taylor Swift. This shocking discovery happened in the Watch Hill neighborhood, a fancy and quiet area where many people live peacefully.

Officers found what looked like a human leg bone less than half a mile from Swift’s oceanfront house. This happened after people reported that body parts were washing up on a beach nearby, on Everett Avenue.

According to Fox News, this is the 13th time human remains have been discovered in three states, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, since March. Police have found five bodies in Massachusetts, five in Connecticut, and now three in Rhode Island.

Two of the Massachusetts cases happened in the small town of Taunton.

One person who lives in the area told NBC 10: “It was probably a couple of football fields away from Taylor Swift’s house and the Ocean House. I would never expect anything like that -- especially not in Watch Hill."

Police are now working to figure out who the remains belong to and how they got there. While some people are talking online about the possibility of a serial killer, police have not confirmed anything like that. They are still investigating.
