Just two days before the much-awaited opening of the Tomorrowland Dance Music Festival in Boom, Belgium, a large fire broke out on the festival's iconic main stage, causing significant damage. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

In an official statement shared on social media Wednesday evening, the festival organisers confirmed the incident and said,

“Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged. We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.”

DreamVille and other events to go ahead as planned

Despite the unfortunate fire, the organisers assured fans that the festival preparations are continuing.

“We can announce that, DreamVille (campsite) will open tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) as planned and will be ready for all DreamVille visitors. All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will take place as planned,” they added in their post.

They also mentioned that the team is actively working on finding solutions for the upcoming festival weekend, which is scheduled to begin Friday, July 18, and run through Sunday, July 20, with more updates expected soon.

According to media reports, around 1,000 staff members were present at the site when the fire broke out. Emergency services were quick to arrive and take control of the situation.

Tomorrowland spokesperson Debbie Willemsen told Der Telegraaf,

“Emergency services are on the spot. Now our main priority is safety.”

Local outlet GVA reported that a large number of emergency personnel were at the location, and nearby residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke.

Social media videos show stage engulfed in flames

Soon after the incident, several videos surfaced online showing thick black smoke and massive flames rising from the main stage structure. The footage shocked fans across the world, as the Tomorrowland stage is known for its spectacular design and visual storytelling.

When is Tomorrowland 2025 happening?

Tomorrowland is one of the biggest and most celebrated electronic dance music festivals globally. This year's event is split into two weekends:

  • Weekend 1: July 18–20, 2025

  • Weekend 2: July 25–27, 2025

Millions of fans from across the world are expected to attend, with DreamVille (the festival’s official campsite) serving as a temporary home for thousands of visitors.
