In Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, a man allegedly killed his wife and two daughters over a dispute related to wearing a burqa. The bodies of the three family members were buried in a pit dug inside their own house. The victims have been identified as Tahira (35), the wife, and their daughters Shareen (14) and Afreen (6). The family had gone missing for a week before the matter came to the attention of the authorities.

On Tuesday, the village headman reported their disappearance to the police, who immediately began an investigation. Acting on suspicion, the police took the husband, Farooq, into custody for questioning. During interrogation, Farooq confessed to killing his wife and daughters and revealed that he had buried their bodies inside a pit at their home. Following his confession, a large team of police, including the Superintendent of Police NP Singh, rushed to the house and recovered the bodies.

According to preliminary investigation, the incident appears to have started from a domestic dispute. Police said that Farooq’s wife had asked him for money for some work, which led to an argument between them. In anger, Tahira went to her parents’ house without wearing a burqa, which reportedly made Farooq feel that his “honour had been compromised.” About a month later, the accused brought his wife back home and killed her along with their two daughters. After committing the crime, he dug a pit inside the house and buried the three bodies.

The police also recovered a pistol and cartridges that were allegedly used in the murder from Farooq. The accused has been taken into custody, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations. Officials confirmed that the case seems to be related to a family dispute, but the investigation is ongoing. Police are continuing to interrogate the accused and conduct a detailed probe into the circumstances that led to this tragic triple murder. The incident has shocked residents of the area, raising concerns about domestic violence and family disputes escalating to extreme violence.
