An autorickshaw driver in Mumbai was arrested for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman in Vasai before taking her to Mumbai in his vehicle. The police said that after the attack, the driver left her unconscious near a temple and fled the scene.
The woman was later taken to the hospital, where doctors found unusual objects inside her body, including a caesarean blade and stones. The police registered a case against the driver, and he was arrested. Further investigations are still underway.
What the woman did after the incident
According to media reports, the cops believe the woman may have framed the rape herself. Sources say that the woman, who lives with her family in Nalasopara, had gone to a beach with the autorickshaw driver and stayed there overnight. It was at the beach that the driver allegedly raped her, after which he left. The woman managed to reach Nalasopara railway station but feared scolding from her parents for going to the beach at night.
In an attempt to make the situation more serious, the woman reportedly bought a surgical knife and inserted it into her private part. She also pushed some stones inside her body. When she experienced pain and bleeding, she contacted the local police and filed a rape complaint.
Police investigate past reports
The police were further informed by the woman's father that two similar rape complaints had been made by his daughter in 2023. They also believe the woman might be mentally unfit. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the truth behind her claims.
The woman and the accused are still under scrutiny as the case develops.
