In a shocking incident, a man was killed while he was out to buy meat on Thursday afternoon in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Shahzad, a 35-year-old man from Meerut living in Noida, was at a shop owned by Gulzar when a small argument over a towel between him and another customer quickly turned violent leading to his death.
The argument started as Shahzad asked the unknown man for his towel which provoked the accused. People witnessed at the moment described how the infuriated man suddenly took a butcher knife and stabbed it into Shazad’s stomach without thinking for a second. The incident took place in the meatshop of sector 117, Noida.
After being stabbed, Shahzad managed to run about 40 meters, pleading for help while holding his bleeding stomach. Despite his desperate cries, no one came to help him. The merciless attacker continued his assault, repeatedly stabbing Shahzad until he collapsed to death. Even after the brutal killing, the accused has no regrets, he calmly returned to the meat shop, placed his order, and walked away as if nothing had happened.
The police soon arrived at the place of the incident, retrieved Shahzad’s body and sent it for autopsy. Although there is no initial clue on the murderer's identity, the police are looking for the nearby CCTV cameras where footage of the accused may be captured.
Later that night, police got information about the attacker, Amarjeet Mahato, from Bihar. Early the next morning, they tracked him to a jungle near Sector 117. When officers approached, Mahato shot at them with a pistol. In the gunfight, Mahato was shot in the leg, captured, and taken to a hospital. Police also recovered the knife used in Shahzad's murder, along with Mahato's pistol and live bullets.
The police reported that Shahzad was a father of three, and his wife, Salma, worked as a cook. Shahzad had recently lost his job as a driver and was trying to find new work when he was killed.
Although the meat shop had surveillance cameras, the footage only shows brief moments of the attack: Shahzad running out of the shop after being stabbed, with Mahato chasing him. The police have taken CCTV footage from nearby shops as part of their investigation.
