A dreadful incident took place in Delhi's Ghazipur area, where a woman's burnt body was found inside a suitcase. The investigation revealed that the woman was in a live-in relationship with her cousin, Amit Tiwari. On January 25, during an argument, Amit strangled her to death. He then took the help of his associate, Anuj, to transport the body in a car, ultimately setting it on fire in a deserted area. Both Amit and Anuj have been arrested in connection with the crime.

According to Abhishek Dhania, Deputy Commissioner of Police for East Delhi, "At first, they had no idea. All we found was a burnt suitcase and a body. They began by reviewing CCTV footage from the area where the suitcase was discovered."

He explained that the police noticed a suspicious Hyundai Verna passing through the area a few hours before the body was found. Tracing the car's registration, they reached a man from Loni, who told them he had sold the car to Amit Tiwari.

Police tracked down Amit Tiwari, 22, after reviewing CCTV footage and took him into custody. Amit, a cab driver from Ghaziabad, was accompanied by his friend Anuj Kumar, also seen in the footage, who was arrested as well. Anuj, a welding mechanic, also lives in Ghaziabad.

During interrogation, Amit confirmed that the body was that of his 22-year-old cousin, Shilpa Pandey. He admitted they had been in a relationship for a year, but while Shilpa wanted to marry him, he had been attempting to end the relationship.

The police said that on the night of the incident, Amit was drunk and got into a heated argument with Shilpa. In a fit of anger, he strangled her to death. Afterwards, he placed her body in a suitcase and contacted his friend Anuj for assistance in disposing of it.

A police statement said, "The victim, who was the accused's cousin, had been pressuring him to leave his family and live with her. She also threatened to falsely accuse him and his family of wrongdoing." The statement also mentioned that Anuj allegedly helped Amit in disposing of the body.
