A 23-year-old man has been accused of a serious crime. He has been charged with raping a 19-year-old college student and forcing her to change her religion and marry him. The police gave this information on Friday.

The man’s name is Azad Ansari. He lives in Hardiya Jamin village, which falls under the Sikandarpur police station area in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the FIR lodged on Thursday, the first-year college student alleged that on December 17 last year, Ansari took her to a hotel room in the Bilthara Road area, saying he had a job offer for her. There, he drugged her tea, raped her, and recorded the incident on his mobile phone.

Later, on March 11, while the victim was on her way to check her exam results, Ansari allegedly blackmailed her and took her to Mumbai. There he pressured her to convert to Islam and marry him, according to the police.

Sikandarpur Station House Officer Vikas Chandra Pandey said, "The victim has been sent for a medical examination, and investigations are underway."

He also added that Ansari has been booked under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act.

The police are continuing their investigation, and further legal action will be taken based on the findings. Authorities are ensuring the victim receives proper support and justice.
