Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal has shared a clarification after a report claimed that LAT Aerospace, a company he supports, had bought a Bombardier Global private jet. Goyal wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "For those who want facts instead of clickbait headlines, LAT is a startup and has not bought any private jet. LAT is focused on making planes for regional air travel, not on buying jets." He also added jokingly, "I don't own one personally either. It would be nice to have one, though!"

What did the report say?

According to a report by Moneycontrol, a Bombardier Global series jet was supposed to start flying from July 16. The jet has been seen parked at the VIP bay of Delhi airport since June 2025. The exact model, registration, and purpose of the jet were not confirmed. The report also said that Indamer MJets Airport Services and Bird Execujet Airport Services were handling the ground services and engineering work for this jet.

About LAT Aerospace

In June, LAT Aerospace co-founder Surobhi Das confirmed that Deepinder Goyal is interested in improving regional air travel through this startup. She explained that while building Zomato and travelling around India, she and Goyal kept wondering why regional flights were so expensive, rare, and difficult to access unless you live in a big city.
India has around 450 airstrips, but only 150 are used for commercial flights.

This means most of India’s aviation potential is not being used. As a result, millions of people in smaller cities spend many hours or even days travelling by road or train. Goyal hopes his new aviation startup will make regional air travel easier and more affordable in India. However, this idea still faces challenges like government approvals, technical development, and whether people will adopt it.

Goyal’s new luxury apartment

This news about LAT Aerospace comes just days after reports that Deepinder Goyal bought a large luxury apartment in Gurugram for ₹52.3 crore. The apartment is nearly 11,000 square feet and is located in DLF’s luxury project, ‘DLF Camellias’. Goyal bought it from DLF Ltd in August 2022, and the registration was completed in March this year. Property experts now say the value of this apartment could be between ₹125 crore and ₹150 crore.
