African-American singer and actress Mary Millben recently voiced her support for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who she highlighted as a strong leader for both India and the world. Millben also criticized Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, for his controversial remarks regarding women's education and population control.
A vocal supporter of PM Modi, Millben says, "Many people ask why I support Prime Minister Modi, and follow India affairs so closely. The answer is simple. I love India... And I believe Prime Minister Modi is the best leader for India, and the progress of Indian citizens. He's the best leader for the US-India relationship and for the global economic stability of the world."
Mary Millben didn't mince words when talking about the vulgar remarks made by Nitish Kumar during a debate in the Bihar Assembly. She called for him to step down and encouraged a "courageous" woman to run for his post:
"After Nitish Kumar ji's comments, I believe a courageous woman needs to step up and declare her candidacy to run for Chief Minister of Bihar. If I were a citizen of India, I would move to Bihar and run for Chief Minister," Millben said on her X post.
In other news, Millben recognized the upcoming 2024 election season, in both the US and India. She pointed out that election seasons often bring opportunities for significant changes, including an end to outdated policies and the introduction of fresh leadership with innovative ideas.
Meanwhile, PM criticized Nitish Kumar for his controversial remarks, calling them an insult to women and the country. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan also weighed in, supporting the need for change and encouraging people to consider the options carefully before casting their vote.
Mary Millben's connection to and concern for Indian affairs has been evident in the past. She has openly supported PM and even performed the Indian national anthem during his state visit to the US. Her recent remarks further underscore her dedication to and support for the country.
