US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will take control of Gaza after relocating the Palestinian people. He said the US will "develop it" and "own it." Trump made this unexpected statement during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after their meeting. He also emphasized that he sees long-term US ownership of Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, standing beside Trump, said the plan could "change history" and that Trump sees a different future for Gaza. This announcement is likely to have a big impact on global politics, especially in the Middle East.

Israel and Hamas had been fighting in Gaza since October 2023 until a recent ceasefire. Israeli airstrikes have destroyed most buildings, making the area almost unlivable and forcing hundreds of thousands to leave their homes. Gaza is one of the most crowded places in the world, with about 2.1 million people living there.

Trump said the US would take control of Gaza and clear all dangerous unexploded bombs and weapons. He added that destroyed buildings would be removed, and new economic projects would create endless jobs and housing for the people in the area.

When asked about deploying US troops to manage security in Gaza, Trump said, “We’ll do what is necessary. If it’s necessary, we’ll do that.” He further stated, “We’re going to take over that area, develop it, create thousands of jobs, and turn it into something the entire Middle East can be proud of.”

Trump also shared his vision of people from around the world settling in Gaza after his development plan. He mentioned plans to visit Gaza, Israel, and Saudi Arabia in the future but did not specify when. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump’s approach, calling it “thinking outside the box” and “challenging conventional ideas.”

However, Trump did not clarify how the US would take control of Gaza or under what authority it could maintain long-term ownership of the region.
