The specifics of the sale have not been made public, although analysts put the jet’s value at roughly $10 million. This deal comes at a time when Trump is facing escalating legal expenditures, estimated to be in excess of $100 million, as a result of different court disputes.

Some perceive Trump’s Cessna sale as a sign of financial strain. He is also apparently utilizing monies from his political campaign to pay for his legal fees. In addition, his media and technology company, Trump Media & Technology Group, has not done well financially. The corporation apparently lost more than $300 million in the first quarter of 2024 and made very little income. The company’s stock price has likewise dropped dramatically since its inception.

Mehrdad Moayedi, an Iranian-American construction entrepreneur and strong backer of Donald Trump, purchased the Cessna. According to public records, Moayedi donated roughly $250,000 to a political committee affiliated with Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign. He’s also contributed to other Republican candidates and committees.

The sale of the jet, as well as Trump’s stated financial woes, call into question the viability of his corporate enterprise. It remains to be seen how he would handle his rising legal expenditures and the financial difficulties of his media organization.
