Trump plans to avoid outdoor rallies following assassination attempt

Trump will likely participate in smaller outdoor events or larger rallies in a fully controlled facility with no issues with high ground nearby.

Following a recent assassination attempt in which former US President Donald Trump was shot at an outdoor rally in Pennsylvania, Trump has reportedly decided that Trump plans to avoid outdoor rallies as a safety measure.

Some sources closely related to Trump’s political campaign stated, that the current plans are to hold indoor rallies, but Trump will likely participate in smaller outdoor events or larger rallies in a fully controlled facility with no issues with high ground nearby.

However, the spokesperson of Trump’s campaign has not confirmed the news yet. The Secret Service has also resisted commenting on the information.

Cheatle’s Resignation and Its Implications

It is noteworthy that the news of the venue change came on the same day Kimberly Cheatle, director of the Secret Service, announced her resignation.

Trump also commented on her resignation in a phone interview with Newsmax. He stated, “I just heard that she is out and she, I don’t think, had much of a choice.” He further added that his campaign had been asking for more Secret Service agents at campaign events in recent months but was denied.

During his interview, the former President also mentioned about an indoor rally he held in Michigan “Do I feel safe? Yeah, I have to feel safe. Otherwise, I guess, I wouldn’t be able to do this stuff,” Trump said.

Cheatle on Tuesday resigned from her post following outrage over the failure of the agency to prevent the attack on the presidential contender at a Pennsylvania campaign rally earlier this month.

On 13 July, when the former President was attacked, Cheatle said that one of the foremost duties of the Secret Service is to protect the American leaders and the agency “fell short of that mission”. In her email to Secret Service agents, Cheatle wrote, “I do not want my calls for resignation to be a distraction from the great work each and every one of you do towards our vital mission,”
