U.S. President Donald Trump has accused the Democrats of leaking classified intelligence that suggested recent American airstrikes failed to destroy Iran's nuclear program. Trump also demanded that those responsible be prosecuted.

According to reports, the Trump administration has directed the FBI to identify who leaked the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) report. The document reportedly stated that U.S. military action did not succeed in eliminating Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Trump, posting on Truth Social, said: “The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the perfect flight to the nuclear sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted!”

Sources within the administration believe that the leak came from someone who may hold a personal grudge against the president.

During a press conference, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth pushed back against parts of the leaked report. He said he hadn’t seen any intelligence confirming that Iran had moved enriched uranium ahead of the bombing.

“I'm not aware of any intelligence that I've reviewed that says things were not where they were supposed to be moved or otherwise,” Hegseth said.

He also praised the military operation but gave few details about how effective it was.

Despite Hegseth’s comments, intelligence sources and Israeli officials told media outlets, including The New York Times, that Iran had secretly moved 400 kilograms of highly-enriched uranium from its Fordow facility to a hidden location before the U.S. strikes.

Operation Midnight Hammer, carried out on Saturday, involved seven B-2 bombers targeting fortified nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan with bunker-busting bombs.

Initial reports suggest Iran removed some of its nuclear materials from Fordow ahead of the attack, possibly limiting the impact of the strikes.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed at a press briefing that the leaked report contained sensitive information.

“The FBI is looking for the leaker, so you'll have to ask them in the Department of Justice in terms of this investigation. But, you know, leaking top secret classified intelligence is a crime and people need to be held accountable for that crime,” she said.

She added: “This administration wants to ensure that classified intelligence is not ending up in irresponsible hands and that people who have the privilege of viewing this top secret classified information are being responsible with it. And unfortunately, clearly someone who had their hands on this, and it was a very few people, a very few number of people in our government who saw this report, that person was irresponsible with it, and we need to get to the bottom of it and we need to strengthen that process to protect our national security and protect the American public.”
