In an interview at the Viva Tech event in Paris, Elon Musk, the millionaire entrepreneur and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, says he is an alien.
He teases the world with his promise to post "alien evidence" on social media. The disclosure happened when Musk was speaking about a variety of subjects, such as job automation and artificial intelligence (AI), during the Viva Tech conference in Paris.
Musk's assertion seems to be a combination of daring and fun, in line with his strange remarks and quirky social media posts. Musk said without hesitating, "I am an alien," in response to the host's lighthearted suggestion that some people believe he might be an alien. He continued, "Yes, I keep telling people I’m an alien, but nobody believes me".
Musk made his claim to be an alien while maintaining a straight expression and a sparkle in his eye. He combined this assertion with insightful remarks on people and artificial intelligence to keep the discussion lively.
Musk claims that, like our brains, people give AI meaning and purpose. The limbic system, which regulates emotions and instincts, and the cortex, which manages thought and planning, are the two primary regions of our brains. Musk thinks AI may function similarly to the limbic system of humans, attempting to make them happy. He said, "Maybe we are what will give the AI meaning or purpose".
Above and beyond the humor, Musk discussed important issues around AI. He foresaw a time when employment would become voluntary and predicted that AI would eventually eliminate all jobs. He called on regulators to give accuracy and truthfulness priority over political correctness, stressing the significance of teaching AI to be truthful. It's interesting to note that Musk said, "If I ever saw proof of aliens, I'd promptly share it on the X platform," indicating that he was open to the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
Here are other instances when Musk talked about aliens and extraterrestrial life.
Musk's claim at the Milken Institute Global Conference 2024:
Musk declared he is not sure that aliens have ever visited Earth during a panel discussion titled "How to save the human race and other light topics." He said that if we send probes into space, we might find "remains of long-dead alien civilizations."
Musk's claim at 2019 SpaceX Employees Gathering
Musk stated in front of the company's staff that, to the best of our knowledge, humans are the only sentient beings in the cosmos. "We might be alone in this galaxy, and our consciousness is extremely fragile," he said. He stressed that there have been no indications of extraterrestrial life, even if he acknowledged that it might exist.
Musk's observation from Starlink Satellite Network 2024
Musk has not observed any convincing proof of extraterrestrial life or non-human-operated ship, despite SpaceX's Starlink project deploying thousands of broadband satellites in low Earth orbit. He doesn't believe that aliens will ever visit Earth.
