Kim Jong Un again threatens nuclear response against South Korea and US

Experts believe that North Korea may become more aggressive as the U.S. presidential election approaches next month.

North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, has once again warned that he could use nuclear weapons if there is any conflict with South Korea and US. According to North Korean news, Kim blamed these two countries for causing problems and increasing tensions in the region. Experts believe that North Korea may become more aggressive as the U.S. presidential election approaches next month.

During a speech held at the Kim Jong Un University of National Defense, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned that North Korea would use all its weapons, including nuclear ones, if it felt threatened by enemy forces. He pointed to the increasing military cooperation between South Korea and the United States, saying that their joint efforts are raising the chances of conflict. Kim stressed that North Korea’s nuclear forces must be ready to respond if its enemies try to use force.

Kim refers to new South Korea and US defense agreement

Kim’s remarks appear to be about a new agreement between South Korea and the United States that was signed in July. This agreement combines South Korea’s regular military power with U.S. nuclear weapons to build a stronger defense against North Korea’s growing nuclear threats. While South Korea does not have its own nuclear weapons, the two countries are working together to prevent any aggression from North Korea.

Since 2022, North Korea has followed a more aggressive nuclear policy, allowing it to use nuclear weapons first if it believes its leadership in Pyongyang is in danger. However, many experts doubt that North Korea would actually carry out these threats, as its military is much weaker than the combined forces of the U.S. and South Korea. Both countries have warned that if North Korea ever uses nuclear weapons, it would lead to the end of Kim Jong Un’s government.

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula have increased recently. North Korea revealed a new facility to make weapons-grade uranium, which is needed to build nuclear bombs, and has also continued testing missiles. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said in an interview that North Korea might be trying to get the U.S.’s attention before the upcoming presidential election. He warned that North Korea could be planning bigger actions, like testing a nuclear bomb or launching a long-range missile.

Experts think North Korea might use its increasing number of nuclear weapons as a way to gain advantages, like easing international sanctions. They believe North Korea could try this after a new U.S. administration takes office.

North Korea’s parliament was supposed to meet on October 7, but it hasn’t been confirmed if the meeting happened as planned. Experts believe the meeting might have been meant to officially declare a two-state system on the Korean Peninsula, meaning North Korea would no longer aim for peace or unity with South Korea. In January, Kim Jong Un ordered a change in North Korea’s constitution to remove the goal of peaceful unification and to declare South Korea as North Korea’s permanent enemy.
