Chandra Arya, a Member of Parliament in Canada, has condemned the rising attacks on Hindu communities, with Khalistani extremists being identified as the perpetrators of a recent incident at the Hindu Sabha Mandir temple in Brampton. This confrontation, captured in widely circulated videos, shows protesters, including those who support Khalistan, clashing with others who were waving the Indian national flag on the temple grounds.
What happened at the Hindu Sabha Mandir?
The incident has raised alarms for Arya, who stated, "The attack by Khalistanis on the Hindu-Canadian devotees inside the premises of the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton shows how deep and brazen Khalistani violent extremism has become in Canada." He expressed his increasing concern that Khalistani elements may have infiltrated Canadian political and law enforcement systems.
Elaborating on this aspect further, he said, they are exploiting the use of “freedom of expression” to operate without consequence in Canada. Arya asked the Hindu-Canadian community to stand strong and fight for their rights besides demanding security and safety with the accountability of the political leadership of the day.
A video posted by Arya on social media shows people carrying Khalistani flags entering the temple grounds and clashing violently with the people present, wielding sticks and flags. This shocking video has been a cause of much protest from all sides, and attention is being drawn to the immediate need for action against such extremism.
A red line has been crossed by Canadian Khalistani extremists today.

Indian High Commission and political leaders' response
Following the event, the Indian High Commission condemned what it described as "anti-India elements," stating that they disrupted routine consular activities during a camp organized in partnership with the Hindu Sabha Mandir. The Commission described the events as "deeply disappointing."
Politicians from all over Canada have condemned the attack. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, opposition leader Pierre Poilievre, and Toronto MP Kevin Vuong have all expressed their outrage over the incident.
This incident has taken place in the background of diplomatic tension between Canada and India, especially when the Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau started raising claims regarding "credible allegations" which were made with an inference of involvement of the Indian government in the death of Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Heightened tensions and incidents such as this attack on the Hindu temple have triggered much concern in the hearts of different communities of Canada, and it speaks to the urgent need for dialogue and safety in the multicultural atmosphere.
