External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar made a major declaration that reinforces India's stance on important geopolitical issues. He said that the government is firmly committed to bringing back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) with India. It is during the "Vishwa Bandhu Bharat" event that S. Jaishankar spoke to students at Gargi College and stressed that all Indian political parties support this national commitment.

The minister emphasized how public perception has changed as a result of Article 370's removal, which gave Jammu and Kashmir, a special status. He claimed that the action has raised awareness of the PoK issue across the country. “The prerequisite for something happening is it must be in your thoughts. Now that PoK is in our thoughts, the rest will certainly happen at some point,” Jaishankar stated, indicating a change in the circumstances on the ground.

Jaishankar's statements coincide with a request by political and human rights groups in the PoK for a protracted march and sit-in on May 11 to draw attention to regional problems like unemployment, inflation, and resource exploitation.

Jaishankar reiterated India's support for the creation of an independent state of Palestine while emphasizing the country's proactive role in preserving peace in the Middle East and West Asia as a result of its multifaceted relationships with the surrounding nations. Following recent escalations, Israel, the Palestinians, and other Middle Eastern nations find themselves in a tense and complex position that is reflected in this statement.

The minister's remarks are indicative of a larger Indian policy that aims to strike a balance between its commitment to regional peace and stability and its strategic objectives. India has always taken a balanced approach to its foreign policy, which is reflected in its non-alignment and strategic autonomy. This includes its position on Palestine.

India's favorable connections with Arab nations, which are essential for both the welfare of its sizable overseas community in the area and the country's energy security, have been strengthened by its support for the Palestinian cause. India has forged a solid strategic alliance with Israel despite its pro-Palestine position, especially in the fields of agriculture and military.

India's diplomatic approach enables it to develop security and commercial ties with Israel while simultaneously gaining backing from other members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which may have an impact on its import and export of energy. India's worldwide image is enhanced by its advocacy for a two-state solution and support for socio-economic well-being in Palestine. These actions present India as a responsible actor who is dedicated to upholding international law and human rights.
