How the survey works

Numbeo, being the largest cost-of-living database in the world, surveys twice every year to gauge the safety of nations. The surveys gauge the levels of crime and perceived safety from responses of visitors to the website. The rankings are founded on parameters such as fears of overall and violent crimes, theft of property, and overall sense of crime.

With these findings, the survey gives an indication of how safe or unsafe residents and visitors can feel in various countries across the globe.
